To this end, we have created one of the best mental health treatment centers in California.
At its core, Neurish is designed to address the gaps that we see in the mental health space, providing clinically sophisticated care that is tailored to the individual needs of each client. From the ground level to top leadership, we have assembled a team of caring professionals who are experienced and dedicated to working with clients to help them achieve their mental health goals. The Story Behind Our
Leadership Team
During his decades of experience, Paul Alexander, CEO of Northbound Treatment Network, noticed something important about incoming clients: they either had co occurring mental health diagnoses and were not treated accordingly, or had been misdiagnosed and, as a result, not received the appropriate treatment.
Similarly, over the past decade, Cole Dyar, doctoral candidate and clinician, noticed the co occurring mental health disorders that drove addiction in his clients, and began researching the etiological components of mental illness. He started building mental health and substance use disorder programs with the idea of treating persistent mental illness as the primary issue.
Joining Forces to Restore a Failing System
The two found improper diagnostics to be a trend within the current mental healthcare system. They noticed that there were many facilities that falsely advertised mental health treatment, while actually billing for substance use treatment. At these facilities, staff would use methods that were effective for substance use treatment, but not suitable for treating moderate to severe mental health conditions. This led to a lack of trust and posed a significant safety concern. Where the system was meant to protect, it continuously caused harm to clients who, at the very least, deserve the appropriate level of care and consideration.
Cole and Paul met through the behavioral health industry and soon joined forces to create the program they had always envisioned. Neurish Wellness was born from a need to address this dangerous gap in the system that has consistently failed those it is meant to help.
